Building A Dream
In 1799, painter and poet William Blake said, "The imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself. So much that, this strange side-product of our complicated minds is with us since the first moment of our evolutionary journey. Although it seems endless, our brain's ability to imagine is limited to what it has already experienced.
What if we wanted more? What if we aspired to build a dream beyond the limits of our sensory organs? For example, what if we wished to see the traces of the life of a leader who turned what no one could have imagined into reality in a country under captivity, as if he were living those days? If the images produced by our imagination are combined with artificial intelligence, why not?
The corpus consisting of over 1,000 invaluable photographs of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder father of Türkiye, obtained from the Museum of Republic, is brought into present and even into the future.
Photographs from Atatürk's time meet with the artificial intelligence in an exclusive work celebrating the Centennial of the Republic of Türkiye. Each frame of digital printouts of the "Digital Installation of Building A Dream", characters' perspectives, and even their emotions are processed with artificialintelligence algorithms. The universe of data, created using the dreams built with 1’s and 0’s, are making the invisible visible.
Building A Dream, where technology and art meet, offers visitors an opportunity to witness the imagination of artificial intelligence, and Atatürk's ability to imagine. The data statue depicting Atatúrk's dream and vision, using the artificial intelligence technology, draws attention with its ability to reflect the power of new technologies to shape the future.
